The India vs Pakistan cricket rivalry is unparalleled in the game of cricket. Both the cricket crazy nations have refrained themselves from participating in bilateral contests due to political grudges but their faceoff in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup generates more buzz in the market than any other clash in the sports.

The testimony of the excitement for the India vs Pakistan match was the fact that over 1 crore users watched the match live on the digital platform Disney plus Hotstar on September 5 (Sunday). Pakistan perfectly avenged their group stage defeat on Sunday by beating Men in Blue in their first clash of the Super-4 stage at Dubai International Stadium. The thrilling encounter between both sides went down to the wire as Pakistan notched up crucial victory in the final over of the match.

Post-match, England's popular cricket fan club Barmy Army compared the standards of India vs Pakistan rivalry with the buzz of Ashes which takes place between England and Australia. Indian cricket fans were quick to notice the comparison on Twitter and responded hilariously to prove England's Barmy wrong.

Even former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer too joined others and took a dig at the fan club by stating that if he was an English fan, he would certainly downplay the Ashes considering the record of the English team in the Ashes series. “If I was an England fan, with the Ashes record England has, I’d downplay the Ashes if anything,” Wasim Jaffer tweeted.

Notably, Jaffer's reminder of England's record at Ashes came on the back of the fact that England has not been performing well in last couple of editions. The English team last won the Ashes in 2015.
