Three Indian Premier League franchises have decided to participate in the International League T20 in UAE. But unlike the IPL, ILT20 will have a draft for the selection of players. However, the league has allowed the IPL franchises to sign players from their teams.

The three IPL teams who have bought franchises in the International League T20 are Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. The owners are allowed to select as many as four players from their original IPL squad for this competition.

Let us check out which 4 players each franchise will pick from their squad.

Mumbai Indians:

The five-time IPL champions had a terrible 2022 season as they only won four games. But the International League T20 (ILT20) has presented them an incredible opportunity to hone their young foreign players who could then be valuable in the 2023 IPL season. Mumbai Indians could bring in the South African duo of Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis, with Australian shining stars Riley Meredith and Tim David.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Like the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders also had a difficult season. They showed promise but couldn't capitalise on it. Hence, they could develop players like Chamika Karunaratne and Sam Billings in International League T20 (ILT20). They could also pick Mohammed Nabi and Aaron Finch as experienced players in their squad.

Delhi Capitals:

The 2020 finalists had a decent showing in the recent IPL season where they finished outside the playoffs. So for making that leap into the playoffs, they could improve players like Mustafizur Rahman, Lungi Ngidi, Tim Seifert and Rovman Powell in the ILT20. These players have displayed promises and hence could be first-team regulars next season.
