India restricted Australia for a total of just 263 runs with the help of brilliant bowling effort from Shami, Ashwin and Jadeja respectively. Initially, Australia winning the toss opted to bat first and managed to put 250+ runs total with the help of brilliant fifties from the opener Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb. Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin changed the complexion of the game quickly by picking wickets of both Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith in the same over.
