After a dominant win in the 1st  T20I, Team India will look to seal the series in the 2nd T20I which is scheduled to be played on Sunday in Guwahati. Bowlers ruled the roost as they restricted a strong South African side to mere 106 runs. Four SA batters got out on duck, while only 3 players managed to reach the double figures. All-rounder Keshav Maharaj was the top scorer for the Proteas side. In the bowling department, young Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowler for India, as his 3/32 broke the back of SA top-order. The Temba Bavuma-led side will be hoping for a better show in the 2nd T20I.

However, it seems the rain will play a spoilsport in the all-important game in Guwahati. According to accuweather, there is a 70% chance of rain during the match. There are also concerns about the infrastructure available at the Barsapara Stadium. Notably, a T20I between India and Sri Lanka in 2020 had to be abandoned because of a wet pitch due to a faulty technique in the removal of covers.

However, the organisers said they have put in all arrangements to counter rain. The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has imported two “extremely lightweight” pitch covers from the US.
