The India Legends team has announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming season of Road Safety World Series. The team will be led by Indian cricketing stalwart Sachin Tendulkar and will have stars like Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan in the batting department. The bowling department boasts players Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha. 


While Mohammed Kaif, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan will be a few of the big players who played for the India Legends squad in the last edition of the tournament but are missing from this year's roster. Along with India, New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh and England will be taking part in the second season of this tournament.


Road Safety World Series is supported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Information and Technology and Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Sports Minister of India Anurag Thakur talked about the importance of the tournament as he hopes that the RSWS helps alter the mindset of the people towards safety.


He said, "I am sure the Road Safety World Series will drive social change and work as an ideal platform to influence people's mindset towards their behaviour on the road and road safety." The aim of the RSWS is to drive social change in the country and change people's outlook towards road safety.


Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari hopes that the tournament increases awareness about following road safety rules and regulations. He said, "The Road Safety World Series is a very good initiative to create awareness towards road safety through cricket.”


“We want every individual in this country to be aware and obey every rule and regulation while on the road and for that to happen, we have to create awareness among the people, I strongly believe that this series will be able to do and achieve the goal of saving lives on Indian roads."
