Indian football star Sahal Abdul Samad tied the knot with badminton player Reza Farhat on Wednesday, July 12.  Sahal and Reza have been engaged since July 2022 and the wedding ceremony was held in Kannur, Kerala, and was attended by Sahal's teammates from Kerala Blasters FC, including Sachin Suresh, and Rahul KP among others.

While the 26-year-old Samad is one of the most promising talents in Indian football and plays as an attacking midfielder for the national team,  Reza is a state-level badminton player who has represented Kerala in various tournaments.

The explosive midfielder started his professional career with Kerala Blasters in 2017 and has since made 92 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists. The midfielder has also earned 30 caps for India, scoring three goals, and was part of the squad that won the SAFF Championship last week.

Sahal's wedding comes amid his transfer away from Kerala Blasters in the ongoing transfer window and Mohun Bagan Super Giant have signed Sahal for Rs 1.5 crore with a record salary. Sahal's wedding pictures have gone viral on social media, with fans and fellow players congratulating him on his marriage. Former Kerala Blasters players, C.K. Vineet, Muhammad Rafi, and Rino Anto were also present at the wedding.

Sahal is expected to join his new club soon after his honeymoon and will be hoping to impress in his first season at Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Mohun Bagan will target to win the 2023/24 ISL title after they finished third in the 2022/23 season.
