India men’s cricket team is set to travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup according to a note circulated by the state associations on Thursday ahead of the October 18 Annual General Meeting (AGM). The note included all the four major tournaments India will be participating in in 2023.

India will participate in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup and ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa. The men’s team will take part in the Asia Cup in Pakistan and the ICC Cricket World Cup, hosted by India.

As reported by Cricbuzz, a BCCI official talked about how the tournament in Pakistan will depend on government clearances. "It will be subject to the clearance of the Government of India as always," said the BCCI official maintaining the oft-repeated position. If permissions are not given the event could be hosted in the UAE, like this year's Asia Cup.

In 2023, Pakistan will see a 50-over Asia Cup in the second half of 2023 after the World Cup will take place in India. And going by the AGM note, the BCCI seems to be open to travelling to Pakistan which has been a no-go area since 2008, when India had taken part in an Asia Cup.

Along with a possible tour to Pakistan, the report by Cricbuzz stated that the Government of India is planning to boost tax spending for the World Cup. The report said,  “The ICC has now received a 20% (excluding surcharges) tax order for its broadcast revenue for the 2023 event from the tax authorities in India.

"The BCCI is currently working with the Ministry of Finance, Government of India and have represented against this 20% (excluding surcharges) tax order at the very highest level and are hopeful that a 10% (excluding surcharges) tax order would be forthcoming shortly,” the note further added.
