In their pursuit of a 254-run target in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2024 final, the Indian batting lineup suffered a collapse against the high-class Australian bowling lineup. After the completion of 31 overs in their batting innings, India were reduced to 115/7, staring down the barrel, prompting a plethora of criticism on the social media platform X.
The left-handed opener Adarsh Singh, who was the last of the recognised batters for India at the crease, lost his wicket after a decent innings of 47 off 77 to the right-arm pacer Mahli Beardman. Apart from his batting exploits at the top of the order, only Musheer Khan showed some resistance in front of the Australian bowlers, scoring 22 off 33.
