The preparations for India's tour of Australia have already begun. The BCCI has declared the respective squads and now, as per the latest developments, the fielding coach and trainer for the tour have also been appointed. Former Assam cricketer Subhadeep Ghosh has been given the role of fielding coach, while Amogh Pandit will be working with the women's team as a trainer.
As per the reports in ANI, Ghosh and Pandit have been given the respective roles on a temporary basis. “Subhadeep will be the fielding coach while Amogh is going as the trainer. For now, it is for the Australia tour and a call on a long-term appointment will be taken at the right times,” a source revealed to ANI.
The All-India Senior Women's Selection Committee on Tuesday picked the squads for India women's tour of Australia. Sneh Rana and Shafali Verma, who had impressed everyone with their performances on the England tour, have earned a place in all three squads. Renuka Singh Thakur and Yastika Bhatia are new faces in the T20I squad. The women's team have been a part of a camp in Bengaluru and will undergo mandatory quarantine upon reaching Australia.
India Women to play first-ever Day/Night Test
The Indian women's team will play their first-ever pink ball Test when they will lock horns with the Australians at the WACA. Notably, this will be only the second day-night Test in women's cricket, after the England vs Australia Test in 2017.
The multi-format tour will kick start with the ODI series on September 19. The next two ODIs will be played on September 22 and 24. After that, the cavalry will move to Perth for the standalone Test, scheduled from September 30 to October 3.
