The first Test match between England and India ended in a draw because there was no play possible on the final day due to persistent rain. The match was evenly poised and both teams were fancying their chances. But unfortunately, rain ruined the match for us yet again. Ever since the World Test Championship final, rain has interrupted every single time and remains the biggest threat for teams rather than their opponents.
Fortunately, it seems like there will be little or no rain on the first day of the second Test. The temperature looks good with 23°C in the daytime, while a pleasant evening with 13°C at night. The chances of rain are 20% during the day while 13% during the nighttime. The weather would remain almost the same for the next three days. So, as it seems, for now, there will be plenty of play in the first three days.
However, there are chances of a rain shower on the fourth day. But, as we all know, the English Summer is highly uncertain and the weather changes in no time. So, we can just hope that the weather allows a good game to take place.

How does rain impact the results?
Rain can have a huge impact on the outcomes of a game. As we saw during the World Test Championship, there was no play possible on the first day, and there were regular rain interruptions. India went into the field with two spinners and three seamers, which somehow affected their performance. Apart from that, a start and stop in play also affect the mindset of the players. The game plan requires to be revamped every time the team walks out.
Persistent rain also affects the conditions and the pitch. The ball starts to swing a bit more in the air while the pitch also gets settled. The outfield gets wet and it affects the ball every time the ball goes into the grass.
If the weather allows, we can be in for a good clash as both teams looked good in the first game. Root played rock solid in both the innings and the Indian pacers, especially Jasprit Bumrah, were phenomenal for India.
