Hardik Pandya-led India will kick start their 2023 campaign with three-T20Is scheduled against Sri Lanka, starting from January 3rd in Mumbai. The bilateral contest between both the teams will start at iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The Indian selectors have trusted youngsters to get the job done. With Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan both in the squad, it will be interesting to see who will get the chance in playing XI. After smashing double century in the third ODI against Bangladesh, Ishan Kishan has strengthened his resume for the limited over format. Newly appointed vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav will look to continue his dominance in the shortest format of the game.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka had an unlikely result when they toured India last year. Their captain Dasun Shanaka batted brilliantly in that series and will be hoping to do well again. Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis were exceptional for the island nation in 2022. While Pathum Nissanka was the top scorer in 2022, Kusal Mendis scored 521 runs in 20 matches with the strike rate of 132.23.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the T20I action to begin, the weather forecast on Tuesday remains a question. Will rain become a spoil sport?
