The Commonwealth Games 2022 are set to begin from July 28 in Birmingham, England. For the first time, women's cricket tournament will be included in the 22nd edition of the CWG. The Indian women's cricket team have been drawn in the same group as the arch-rivals Pakistan women's cricket team.

Apart from India and Pakistan, the group also include Australia and Barbados women's cricket team. The Women in Blue are slated to open their CWG campaign against Australia on July 29 followed by the fixture against Pakistan on July 31.

Team India will play their final group game against Barbados on August 3 with all the games to be held at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Earlier, BCCI had announced a 15-member squad for the Commonwealth Games 2022 that includes Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, S. Meghana, Taniya Sapna Bhatia (Wk), Yastika Bhatia (Wk), Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Harleen Deol, Sneh Rana.

A total of eight teams will battle in the T20 format cricket tournament at the CWG 2022. Apart from India, Australia, Pakistan, and Barbados, other teams to qualify for the tournament are England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Pakistan have also announced their 15-member squad that includes Bismah Maroof (C), Aiman Anwar, Aliya Riaz, Anam Amin, Ayesha Naseem, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Gull Feroza (Wk), Iram Javed, Kainat Imtiaz, Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Sadia Iqbal, Tuba Hassan.
