Rivalry between two cricket powerhouse - India Women and Australia Women is one of the newest but a great one. Both the teams are the top cricket teams in women’s cricket and enjoy giving greater competition to one another. India Women are set to take on Australia Women Down Under in a multi-format series, which includes 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and a one-off Day-Night Test match.

What is the venue for the series?

The series between India Women and Australia Women was to be played in New South Wales and Victoria earlier but due to COVID-19 induced lockdown, the mega series will now be played entirely in Queensland. Venue for the ODI series is the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, while the one-off Test and the T20Is will be played at Metricon Stadium in the Gold Coast.

The fixtures of the series:

The series will begin with 3 ODIs from September 21, followed by the Test match, starting September 30 and the T20Is from October 7. Here is the list of the complete fixtures.

1st ODI - September 21 at Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay

2nd ODI - September 24 at Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay

Which trophy are India and Australia playing for?

As the two teams have never played in a points-based system against one other, the new trophy doesn’t have a name yet.

How will the series winner be decided?

There is a point-based system in the series. A team which wins a limited-over match will be given 2 points for each match win, while the one-off Test offers 4 points. A drawn Test will see the two teams share the points.
