IPL 2023 Mini-auction LIVE UPDATES: Franchises request rescheduling of mini-auction due to Christmas

With each of the 10 franchises having released the final list of players retained and released by them, all IPL fans are eagerly waiting for the Indian Premier League mini-auction. Notably, the bidding war will take on December 23 in Kochi.

After the list shared by the teams, it is the Sunrisers Hyderabad who can spend the maximum amount in the auction with a total 42.25 crores remaining in their purse. Punjab Kings can spend 32.20 crore while Lucknow Super Giants have a total of 23.35 crore left.

Mumbai Indians can 20.55 crore in their kitty, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore have 20.45 crores, 19.45 crores, 19.25 crores, 13.20 crores and 8.75 crores respectively.  Kolkata Knight Riders have the least amount in their kitty at 7.05 crores.

IPL 2023 Mini Auction to be rescheduled?

As per reports, the IPL 2023 Auction can be moved further as franchises have requested the BCCI for the same. As IPL 2023 Mini Auction is scheduled for 23 December in Kochi, franchises fear the unavailability of key foreign staff and hence have demanded the date be pushed further. Read detailed news here

It is to be noted that the mega-auction ahead of IPL 2022 was a two-day event. However, this time around since it is a mini-auction, implying lesser spots up for grabs, the entire proceedings will take place on December 23, Friday.
