Kush Maini, one of the most accomplished Indian racers currently, has joined DAMS Lucas Oil for the 2025 edition of the Formula 2 season after being a part of the grid for the last two years. In a decent 2024 season, which saw him finish in 13th place in the Drivers’ World Championship, Kush Maini became an unsung hero for the Invicta Racing in helping them win the F2 Constructors’ World Championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which concluded on December 7, Sunday.

During his first two seasons in F2 with the Invicta Racing, Kush Maini managed to win one race, apart from taking five podiums, to establish himself as one of the most sought-after drivers going around in the circuit. In his junior career thus far, the Indian racer has already won multiple races in the British Formula 3, becoming vice-champion four years ago before competing successfully in the F3 Asian Championship and the FIA Formula 3.

I’m thrilled to be joining a team with such a strong pedigree and history in Formula 2 like DAMS Lucas Oil: Kush Maini

In the upcoming F2 season in 2025, Kush Maini will be racing alongside Jak Crawford, but before that, they will be taking part in the post-season testing in Abu Dhabi later this week. After getting signed by DAMS Lucas Oil for the F2 2025 season, Kush Maini remarked, “I’m thrilled to be joining a team with such a strong pedigree and history in Formula 2 like DAMS Lucas Oil. I feel like my story in this championship isn’t completed yet, and I know that this is the right crew to help me further my career.”

During the last race of the F2 season in 2024, the Abu Dhabi GP, Kush Maini qualified in P6, but after a good start, he had a stalled pit stop, which didn’t allow him to end the year on a high with the Invicta Racing. His performance in the lead up to the Sprint was quite impressive too, but the damage on his car’s floor meant that he wasn’t in the reckoning for the victory there either.

Regardless, his role proved to be vital for Invicta Racing in taking home the F2 Constructors’ World Championship this year prior to him switching to DAMS Lucas Oil team for the 2025 season.
