The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is less than a month away, and the anticipation among cricket fans cannot be defined in words. Adding to the excitement of cricket lovers across the globe, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the official anthem of the forthcoming event. The 2023 World Cup anthem is sung by Bollywood singers, with the likes of Pritam, Nakash Aziz, Sreerama Chandra, Amit Mishra, Jonita Gandhi, AKASA, and Charan.

The renowned Bollywood musician Pritam, who is known for giving some of the best Hindi songs, gave music to the anthem, ‘Dil Jashn Bole’. The song features Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and several famous Indian creators such as Gaurav Taneja aka Flying Beast and Ruhee Dosani. Not only this, but Indian sports presenter Jatin Sapru and Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma also appeared in the hooking number.

The anthem went viral all over social media within minutes of its release, amassing thousands of likes, comments, and reshares, for all the wrong reasons. Despite such groovy music and catchy lyrics, the anthem couldn’t please the cricket fans, who compared it with the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup banger ‘De Ghuma Ke’.

Not only this, but fans also criticised the composers for Hindi lyrics and said that only Indian and Pakistani fans would be able to understand it. Here are some of the best reactions:

Notably, the 1983 and 2011 World Cup winners, India, will host the forthcoming tournament, which is set to begin on October 5, Thursday.
