Cricket Australia has recently announced the schedule for the highly-anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 against India. While the Aussies are winless in their last four Test series against India, the visitors stand a chance to complete a hat-trick of Test series win on the Australian soil and a win could also serve as their fifth straight Test series victory against the reigning WTC champions.
Since 2014-15 BGT, Australia have not beaten India in a home series, losing 2-1 in 2018-19, followed by their 2-1 loss in 2020-21 in the four-match Test series. After losing their four-match away Test series 2-0 in 2014-15, Team India have managed to win their next four-Test series against Australia.
- Border-Gavaskar Trophy (Australia in India) 2016/17 - India 2-1 (4)
- Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India in Australia) 2018/19 - India 2-1 (4)

"Fittingly, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been put on the same footing as the (men's) Ashes with a five-Test Series for the first time since 1991-92 and we're confident the schedule will maximise viewership and attendances and there will be a tremendous atmosphere in stadiums across the country."
