Cricket Australia has reportedly finalised the venues of the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy. As per reports, the five-match Test series between Australia and India will commence in November with Perth Optus Stadium set to host the series opener. 

According to a report, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney are the other four venues along with Perth, which will host the highly anticipated tour of Australia later this year. As per The Sydney Morning Herald, while Adelaide will host the second Test, which will be a day-night contest, Brisbane will host the third Test of the series. Moreover, it stated that the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne will continue to host the traditional Boxing Day Test with Sydney hosting the final, New Year Test. 

These updates come after the board announced the complete details of the Men’s and Women’s Big Bash League. However, with the schedule yet to be released for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, a CA spokesperson was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald, “the schedule is yet to be finalised”. 

Speaking of India versus Australia Test series, the former have been the dominant side, having won past four series played between them. This notably includes back-to-back Test series wins on Australia oil - 2018-19 and 2020-21. In India’s last tour of Australia, the visitors saw themselves bounce back after a horror start in Adelaide.
