IPL 2021 is just a day away. In the tournament opener it will be the five-time champions Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore up against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Although the Virat Kohli-led side haven't won a single trophy so far, they have a new-look side this season and would look to go the distance this year after managing to reach the Playoffs in 2020. Yuzvendra Chahal, the team's leading leg-spinner, will have a huge role to play if RCB are to end their trophy drought this season.

Chahal is talented and smart: Katich

Head coach of the RCB squad, Simon Katich has heaped praise on Chahal before the season-opener. Katich termed Chahal a talented and smart bowler. Katich opined that the leggie will have a significant role to play if RCB are to do well this season. The former Australian cricketer added that a senior cricketer like Yuzi tends to fight till the last ball and everyone in the setup is aware of what he can do with the ball in hand.

15 matches, 21 wickets for Chahal in 2020

Chahal finished IPL 2020 with 21 wickets in 15 matches and ended the tournament as the fifth highest wicket taker. The team wants him to be their highest wicket taker this season as well and with the skills he has and experience gained over the last few years, there is no reason why he cannot emerge as the side's leading wicket taker yet again.
