After batting first, RCB posted an ordinary total of 149/8 with the help of Maxwell's 59(41). SRH started well with the help of David Warner and Manish Pandey's 83-run partnership for 2nd wicket. However, the pair couldn't finish off the game for SRH and the match travelled along the same lines as  the 5th match of the tournament, wherein KKR were choked in the death overs by MI.

Shahbaz Ahmed in 17th over picked 3 wickets and changed the course of the game. Rashid Khan, who was very good with the ball in 1st innings (2/18) tried his level best to win the game for SRH in the end but his 17-run cameo couldn't help the team's cause as they ultimately lost the match by 6 runs.
