Hours before the start of the first match of IPL 2022, the Chennai Super Kings have rolled out their anthem for the season. The song is the same "Whistle Podu" but the video has been changed to incorporate the visuals of them lifting the trophy in 2021. The spirit and the essence of the Chennai Super Kings anthem has remained the same, much like the team who has managed to retain their core of the side ahead of a brand new season.

The new anthem was shared by CSK on their social media account. "Ritual ? #WhistlePodu Anthem 2022! ? #Yellove ??," the video was captioned.

Prior to the tournament, CSK have informed that it will be Ravindra Jadeja who will be leading the side this year and not MS Dhoni. This brings an end to a captaincy stint of a legendary leader who has led the Men in Yellow to four IPL titles.

However, MSD hadn't been the batter of his prime and it was expected that he could look at his successor before he plans to call it quits in the IPL as a player.

CSK have a few availability concerns ahead of the first match. Their preferred new-ball bowler Deepak Chahar is all set to miss several matches of the IPL 2022. While the right-arm pacer is expected to be available at some stage, he is surely not in the plans until mid-April owing to a quadriceps injury. In addition, CSK will also be without Moeen Ali in the first match due to a delay in the procurement of his visa. Meanwhile, Dwaine Pretorius is also set to be unavailable for CSK's opening match against KKR.
