It will be exciting to see how SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) team management execute their plans in the mega auction ahead of IPL 2022 as they failed badly last season, finishing at the bottom of the points table. Looking forward to the future, they have appointed some legendary players as coaching staffs like- Tom Moody(as head coach), Brian Lara (as batting coach), Dale Steyn (as bowling coach), and Muttiah Muralitharan (as bowling consultant). This will be an opportunity for the team to start from scratch with a master batter Williamson in charge and two young Indian domestic talent for his company as of now. What will SunRisers Hyderabad look for in the auction?
SunRises have more than one department to cover up in the mega auctions. A hefty purse of 68 crores thus becomes an advantage for the franchise in comparison to CSK, KKR, or Mumbai Indians who have 48 crores each heading into the auction. They should look to bid high for players who are runaway match winners and impact players.
Players who will be on SRH’S radar:
Vicky Ostwal: An under 19-star bowler who bowls left-arm spin can be a useful pick for SRH. He picked a wicket in every under 19 world cup game except the final and has been one of the most consistent bowlers. He helped India win against South Africa by grabbing a fiver and becoming the player of the match. Seeing him in tandem alongside Abdul Samad could give a good balance to the side, even if the team fails to grab some quality spinning options.
Noor Ahmad: The young Afghanistan leggie has shown impressive signs in the Under 19 world Cup. We all know the threat Afghanistan spinners have possessed in all these years but Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi have not been retained by the side hence they will be in search of someone similar and Noor Ahmad will be a perfect choice.
Pat Cummins: With experience under his belt, Pat Cummins can play a key role in helping SRH win the IPL. Coming from a great Australian Summer Pat Cummins would be high on confidence and can also provide depth in their batting lineup. Moreover, the experience gained by leading the Australian team can be very helpful. But in case, he has to miss out on a few matches due to international commitment will sides still be willing to buy him looking at the longer picture? We shall find out.
