PBKS will play their first match of IPL 2022 against RCB at DY Patil Stadium at 7:30 PM today. Both teams will be lead by relatively two new captains (Mayank Agarwal and Faf du Plessis) like the CSK vs KKR match yesterday. RCB have done well in the recent past to make it two out of two playoffs while PBKS has had the worst record in the IPL cycle from 2018-2021.
Shikhar Dhawan is expected to fill in the shoes of KL Rahul for PBKS and in this season Punjab is expected to use players like Shahrukh Khan effectively. Punjab's pace bowling is entirely dependent on deadly proteas bowler Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh.
For RCB it will be interesting to see Faf du Plessis as skipper and how Virat Kohli plays under him while Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik are expected to be key finishers for their side. Another key factor for RCB will be the bowling duo of Harshal Patel and Mohammed Siraj. Hasaranga as an all-rounder could prove to be good player for the franchise this season.
