Cricket in India follows a different kind of fan following and the kind of passion that Indians have for cricket needs no mention, where fans sometimes go above and beyond to express love for their favourite cricketer and team. However, the passion can sometimes turn ugly, and one such incident is the Delhi Capitals match against SunRisers Hyderabad on April 29, Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

During the 40th encounter of the IPL 2023 in the national capital, an ugly brawl broke out between the fans of both teams in the stands. Though the reason behind the fight remains unclear, a video has surfaced on social media, where the fans of both sides could be seen clashing with each other. Things got sour both on and off the field as the guests bagged a win over the hosts and grabbed two points to move to the seventh position on the points table.

Notably, the visiting captain, Aiden Markram won the toss and invited their hosts to bowl first, with Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma taking over the field to open for the SunRisers Hyderabad. Mayank returned to the pavilion early as he was dismissed for five, but Sharma took on the job and showed some classic batting by hitting 67 from just 36 deliveries. Later, Klassen’s batting skills helped SRH put up a score of 197/6.

Coming to chase, DC skipper David Warner was sent back on a duck by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Despite Phil Salt (59) and Mitchell Marsh's (63) 112-run partnership for the second wicket, DC faced their sixth defeat in eight matches this season. Apart from that, Mayank Markhande’s 2/20 spell in four overs helped the guests win the battle by nine runs.
