Delhi Capitals defeated table toppers Gujarat Titans by five runs in match number 44 of IPL 2023 despite a stunning spell from Mohammed Shami in the powerplay overs. In the first innings of the game, Delhi Capitals got reduced to 23/5 in five overs, but a brilliant fifty from Aman Hakim Khan and a quick-fire knock from Ripal Patel helped GT to post a decent score of 130/8 in 20 overs.
Gujarat Titans fell short of the target despite a fifty from their skipper Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatia's brilliant cameo in the penultimate over. Ishant Sharma managed to defend 12 runs off the final over to become a hero of the match, while bowlers like Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav were also very economical with the ball and helped the cause of DC.
