Chennai Super Kings will be back in action when they face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 23. CSK are third in the table with a lower net run rate at eight points from six matches, whereas KKR are eighth with four points in six matches.

MS Dhoni and his men dominated SRH in their last game at home by seven wickets with the spinners spinning a web around the Hyderabad batters. The Men in Yellow restricted SRH to just 134, courtesy of a three-fer from Ravindra Jadeja and economical bowling from all the bowlers. Chasing the target, Devon Conway hit his second consecutive fifty as he blazed his way to 77* from 57 balls and almost single-handedly chased the total down. Akash Singh has been brilliant since his inclusion and picked up the all-important wicket of Harry Brooks, ending with the figures of 1/17 in his three overs. Chennai batsmen will have to contend with the strong bowling lineup of KKR especially the spinning duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, lost their last game against the Delhi Capitals by four wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Nitish Rana’s men found it difficult to deal with the Delhi bowling lineup on a two-paced wicket as they were bowled for just 127 in their 20 overs with only Jason Roy and Andre Russell crossing 20-run mark. The spinners were impressive in the second innings as they picked up two wickets each pushing Delhi back, but the total was too low to defend and Axar Patel guided Delhi to their first win. The batting will have to be up to task if they have to score against a strong CSK bowling attack. Nitish Rana will be looking to take the openers out early and put pressure on the rest of the batting lineup.
