Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in the eliminator of the IPL 2023 and qualified for Qualifier-2 to face Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. MI, batting first, posted 182/8 in 20 overs with the help of a brilliant 66-run partnership between Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav for the third wicket. Nehal Wadhera's brilliant cameo of 23 runs in 12 balls accelerated Mumbai's total in the end.
Lucknow got bundled for 101 runs in total, as the youngster Akash Madhwal stunned everyone by picking five wickets in this game. Among LSG batters, except for Marcus Stoinis, no other batter managed to score runs, and unfortunately, he also got run out at the wrong time after scoring 40 runs. Madhwal dismissed key batters like Prerak Mankad, Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran for a golden duck.
