Punjab are coming off a thrilling last-over win over the Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. The Kings conceded 200 in the first innings as all the bowlers were hit around the park by Devon Conway. Kagiso Rabada was the only economical bowler along with Rahul Chahar, who finished with 0/35 and 1/34 in their four overs respectively. Punjab chased down a 200+ total without any of their batsmen crossing 50 which shows the teamwork and the balance in the batting lineup. Punjab can jump to at least second with a win against Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians also had an eventful last game against Rajasthan Royals with a thrilling last-over win. The Indians conceded 212 in the first innings as Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his first hundred in the IPL. Mumbai started the chase slowly as they lost their captain Rohit Sharma early and Ishan Kishan played a slow knock of 28 runs. Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav brought them back into the game. It seemed to be over when Sandeep held on to an excellent catch to dismiss the in-form Surya Kumar Yadav. Tim David hit three consecutive sixes in the final over to win the game for Mumbai Indians.
