RCB defeated RR by seven runs in match number 32 of IPL 2023 and registered their fourth win this season. RCB posted 189/9 in the first innings with the help of 127-run partnership for the third wicket between Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. New Zealand pacer Trent Boult was very impressive in the powerplay overs as he dismissed Virat Kohli for a golden duck and reduced RCB to 12/2 in 2.1 overs.

In the death overs, RR needed 61 runs to chase from four overs, but they fell short of the target despite a quick-fire knock from Dhruv Jurel, and their decision to send Ravichandran Ashwin, Abdul Basith ahead of Jason Holder had back-fired completely.
