Lucknow Super Giants will don a special Mohan Bagan Super Giant-inspired jersey for their IPL 2024 clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. Lucknow recently suffered a six-wicket loss at the Ekana Cricket Stadium against the Delhi Capitals. This was Lucknow's first defeat while defending 160+ in IPL history.
Before this loss, the Super Giants had registered 13 wins while defending 160 or more. After this loss, Lucknow will travel to Kolkata and take on the Knight Riders on April 14. For this fixture, LSG will wear a special jersey with Mohun Bagan’s iconic green and maroon colours. This tradition started last year when LSG faced KKR on May 20 and registered a thrilling one-wicket win.

Speaking about this special jersey ahead of the IPL 2023 between Lucknow and Kolkata, LSG owner Shashwat Goenka said, “It is (Mohun Bagan) not an institution, it’s actually an emotion. It is our way of paying respect to the legacy of Mohun Bagan and to the legacy of our city.”

After the game against the Delhi Capitals, LSG captain KL Rahul addressed the reduced recovery time between games as they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in an afternoon clash. Speaking in the post-game interview, Rahul expressed, "We travel tomorrow and play an afternoon game (on Sunday). That's how the schedule goes, need to turn up, could be tough during Indian summers."
