After a 45-day long ODI World Cup 2023 and the Indian Premier League (IPL) being the next big thing in the cricketing world, all eyes will now shift to trade and auction window. Ahead of the IPL 2024 Player Auction, all ten franchises are now active as the trade window comes closer.
Off late, fast bowler Avesh Khan is set to make a move to Rajasthan Royals from Lucknow Super Giants, who will now acquire the services of Devdutt Padikkal in a trade swap ahead of IPL 2024. As reported by ESPNCricinfo, player and the franchises have agreed on the swap.
Avesh Khan was bought by Super Giants in the mega auction in 2022 for INR 10 Crore, meanwhile the Rajasthan Royals bagged the services of Devdutt Padikkal for INR 7.75 Crore and both the players were retained for the 2023 edition of the T20 tournament.
Padikkal, who played only 11 matches in the 2023 season for the Royals, struggled for his role at the top of the order. However, in the two seasons (28 matches), Padikkal cored 637 runs at an average of 23.59 and strike rate of 125.88. On the other hand, Avesh Khan was the second highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2021 with 24 wickets.
