While the two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, become the first team to clinch the IPL 2024 playoff berth, the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals, became the second team to book their playoffs berth after the Delhi Capitals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants.
Chennai Super Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad
The defending champions, CSK are placed third with seven wins in 13 matches followed by SRH at the fourth spot with seven wins in 12 matches. The Super Kings have a better net run rate than the SunRisers, however, Hyderabad have two games in hand. To qualify for the IPL 2024 playoff, SRH have an 87.8% chance while CSK have a 72.3% chance.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
RCB are placed sixth in the standings with their last match against CSK scheduled on Saturday, May 18 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli's side have a 39.8% chance to clinch one of the remaining two IPL 2024 playoff spots.
Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants
Despite winning their last encounter against the LSG, the Delhi Capitals are placed fifth due to their net run rate and are almost out of playoff contention. Similarly, the Lucknow Super Giants suffered a 19-run loss against the Capitals on Tuesday and tainted their chance to achieve a 100% playoff qualification record. Both DC and LSG have a 0.1% chance to qualify.
Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings
The IPL 2024 playoff qualification chances for the Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings are zero with just one game remaining for them this season, The Titans have managed 11 points followed by PBKS with 10 points while MI have eight points in 13 games.
