Punjab Kings, the runners-up from the 2014 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have announced their retained players list ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. In the last season, with Shikhar Dhawan as captain, PBKS had one more IPL to forget, securing only the eighth spot among 10 teams after winning six matches out of 14 in the league phase of the tournament.

After the IPL auction for last season, Punjab Kings had a purse of ₹12.20 crore in hand, which will go up by ₹5 crore following an announcement of the new ruling from the IPL governing council for all the teams. Now that PBKS have retained only some of the marquee players from the last season, they will have the opportunity to spend one of the biggest purses during the upcoming auction to take the squad to the next level for the IPL 2024 season.
