After three consecutive losses, Mumbai Indians have received a massive boost as Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has been reportedly declared fit by the National Cricket Academy. World's Number one T20I batter has been out of action since India's tour to South Africa, where he captained the Men in Blue in the T20I series.
But since then Suryakumar Yadav was diagnosed with a grade II tear in his ankle which he suffered against South Africa. SKY was initially ruled out for seven weeks but then another injury surfaced subsequently. Here, Yadav had to undergo a hernia operation, which ruled him out of the initial games of the IPL.
Suryakumar Yadav declared fit by NCA, likely t o play against Delhi Capitals
As quoted by the Indian Express, a source in the BCCI confirmed that SKY is fit and had to undergo three tests to prove his fitness. The source said, “He is fit now. The NCA made him play a few practice games and he looked good."
"He can join the Mumbai Indians team. We wanted to be sure that when Surya goes back to MI, he is 100 per cent fit and ready to play games. He wasn’t feeling 100% during his first fitness Test before the IPL, so we waited to see if there was any pain while he was batting,” the source continued.
