Days after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the suspension of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a week, recent reports have revealed that the tournament is all set to resume in the coming week. It is to be noted that on Friday, May 9, the BCCI, suspended IPL 2025 for a week, owing to the escalating cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

But on Saturday, May 10, latest reports claimed that the BCCI is all set to resume the tournament from next Friday (May 16). This came hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, leading to BCCI deciding to fast-track the resumption at the earliest possible. Sources close to SportsTiger have also revealed that the tournament will resume in its home and away game format, but the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala will not see any matches.

Notably, a report in The Times of India (TOI) stated that the BCCI officials are working on finalising the dates and venues of remaining 16 matches. Moreover, it has added that the board is keen on continue to play pan-India, barring Dharamsala, which saw the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Kings came to an abrupt end.

As informed, the players of all ten franchises have been informed of the same and would be expected to join at the earliest once the confirmation comes on the resumption of the tournament. The development comes seeing India and Pakistan agreed on ceasefire.

“The war has stopped. In the new situation BCCI officer bearers, officials and IPL governing council, will discuss the matter tomorrow (Sunday) and take a call,” BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla told PTI. “We will see which can be the best schedule to complete the tournament,” he concluded.
