With T20 cricket lovers all in anticipation for the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which will be played with ten teams, the forthcoming mega auctions have garnered a lot of interest among fans. This is because it is at this auction that the core of the team for the coming cycle will be decided and now it is being learned that the IPL Governing Council (IPL GC) has decided to conduct the mega auction in the first week of February.

The decision comes after the deadline for the draft picks of the two new franchises has been extended. As per a media report, IPL GC has already conveyed its decision to the franchises but the lack of clarity regarding the new Ahmedabad franchise owner CVC Sports’ association in the IPL has forced the board to delay the auctions. It has also been confirmed in the report that the auction will be a two-day affair much like the previous editions of the mega auction.

The report carried by Cricket.com also claims that the mega auction might either be held in Bangalore or Hyderabad since the screening process is comparatively better in any of these two cities.
