Hardik Pandya in his first match as captain of India won the toss and invited Ireland to bat first but the game got a delayed start by 2 hours and 20 minutes due to rain, reducing the game to 12 overs per side. Ireland posted 108/4 despite losing 3 quick wickets inside powerplay with the help of brilliant fifty from Harry Tector. Among Indian bowlers both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal looked pretty impressive.

India chasing 109 runs got a cracking start from Ishan Kishan and later Deepak Hooda-Hardik Pandya's partnership ensured they win this game convincingly by 7 wickets with 16 balls to spare.
