The first ODI between India and West Indies went right down the wire with the Windies needing 15 runs in the final over. The set pair of Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd were batting in the middle. The Caribbean duo scored seven runs in the first four balls and were looking on their way to pulling off the chase.
Then on the fourth delivery, the bowler in Mohammed Siraj looked in panic as Shepherd was seen moving around the wicket and Siraj continued to follow his pads. But Siraj delivered the ball he over-corrected it as it went down the leg side. Here, Sanju Samson put in a superman, full-length dive towards his left and stopped it from running down for a boundary. The terrific effort from Samson didn’t allow the extra run and eventually helped India win with a bare margin.
