Ishant Sharma, who became only the second Indian pacer to play 100 Test matches, celebrated the achievement with the wicket of England opener Dom Sibley in only his second over (9th ball). With this, he has entered the list of speedsters quickest to take a wicket in the centenary Test. While Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas picked a wicket in only his 3rd ball of the 100th Test, Ishant is the third quickest to taste success in his landmark match.

Anderson, Broad and McGrath feature in top-5

England speedsters James Anderson and Stuart Broad also find their names in this elite list. While Anderson found a breakthrough in his 26th ball of his 100th Test, he is tied at the fourth-quickest place along with the Aussie great Glenn McGrath. Broad, meanwhile, found a wicket of his 31st ball of his 100th Test and is the fifth quickest to scalp a wicket. Shaun Pollock is the other pacer to feature in the list, having dismissed a batsman of his 6th ball in his 100th Test.

India strike early in Pink-ball Test at Ahmedabad

Despite losing the toss and bowling first, India have made a fine start to the ongoing third-Test at the newly renamed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While Ishant Sharma sent back Sibley early, Axar Patel picked up the wicket of Jonny Bairstow to reduce England to 27/2. This was followed by Ashwin scalping the wicket of England skipper Joe Root.
