Due to poor stint so far in the tournament and in order to improve their standings, Odisha FC has sacked their head coach Kiko Ramirez with immediate effect and has appointed Kino Garcia as his interim replacement on Friday. The club has four wins in their last ten matches and was desperately struggling to register wins in the tournament.

Garcia, who served as the assistant coach of the club, will be taking over the duties of the head coach from Odisha's next game against NorthEast United FC on Tuesday. The important update was shared via a media release issued by the club on Friday. It stated, "Odisha FC would like to confirm the appointment of Kino Garcia as the interim Head Coach." The newly-appointed head coach, Garcia, who has a UEFA Pro License, is a former coach at Valencia CF's youth teams and has earlier coached many important players who are currently playing in the first division in Spain and also directed the Valencia CF Academy in Seoul.

Notably, Odisha FC lost their last match against Kerala Blasters FC by 0-2, which may have prompted Kiko's exit from the club. The team has only managed to secure a single win in their last six matches and lost four. Garcia's next big assignment as head coach will be on Thursday when the team will face off Hyderabad FC, who is currently at third position in the points table.
