WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, disclosed a painful and shocking incident that occurred during a eight-woman tag team match on Monday Night Raw ahead of SummerSlam 2025. In the high-octane match, Nikki teamed with Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, and Stephanie Vaquer to face Women’s World Champion Naomi, Piper Niven, Chelsea Green, and Alba Fyre. Eventually, Nikki Bella’s team won the game, but a pivotal moment in the match came when Piper Niven, also known as “Slaygent P”, delivered a powerful elbow drop to her chest.
On her podcast, The Nikki and Brie Show, she disclosed that the elbow drop from Piper Niven caused one of her breast implants to shift, lodging against her rib cage, resulting in significant discomfort. Nikki described the impact on the podcast saying, “Anyone see that heat spot Monday night? Piper’s elbow drop? Yeah, put the implants right into my ribs.” Her sister, Brie Bella, added, “It put Nikki’s implant right into her ribs,” highlighting the severity of the injury. Nikki noted that laughing and coughing have since become painful, underscoring the physical toll.
I’m sure you’ll be alright: Piper Niven after injuring Nikki Bella
Despite the injury, Nikki Bella completed the match, earning widespread praise for her toughness on social media. She reportedly plans to undergo corrective surgery after retiring from in-ring competition. The two-time Divas champion also did a comeback from a career-threatening neck injury in 2015. Nikki’s return to WWE in February 2025, her first in-ring appearance since 2018, followed a five-year hiatus prompted by a reported brain cyst discovered in 2019 and personal challenges, including her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev in 2024.
As she did her comeback at the Royal Rumble and subsequent matches, she has registered a singles win over Chelsea Green. Piper Niven, whose elbow drop caused the injury, responded playfully on X, posting, “Suck it up buttercup, I’m sure you’ll be alright. If you want I can do the other side and even things out a bit for you.” The comment, accompanied by a video of the moment.
