What might be shocking news for the cricket fans is that New Zealand veteran Ross Taylor took to social media earlier this morning to announce his retirement from international cricket. The 37-year-old in January will play his last Test in Christchurch, equaling former cricketer Daniel Vettori's record of playing most Test matches as New Zealand cricketer.

The veteran batter further mentioned that he would play his last Test series against Bangladesh in January 2022 at home, while the ODI series against Australia and the Netherlands next year will be his last in limited-overs cricket.

The cricketer also added that it was an honour to represent his country for 17 years at the international level.

This news left cricketers, commentators and fans to congratulate Ross Taylor on his magnificent career. Rashid Khan, David Warner and Isa Guha were among the few who took to Twitter to share their best wishes and congratulatory messages on the legend's retirement.
