The controversial switch hit has made a special appearance in England's County division match between Somerset and Yorkshire. England spinner Jack Leach pulled off an incredible switch hit while facing Jack Shutt at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton.

As Somerset was in an incredible position at 391 at the 115th-over mark, Shutt sent out a straight-forward ball towards the off stump. Jack Leach in no-time switched his hands and smashed the ball over the mid-wicket. The ball then crashed around the dressing room. The shot was so absurd that the commentator too was shocked as he called the switch hit ‘frankly ridiculous.’

The game currently stands in Somerset’s favour as they ended the third day with a lead of 373 runs. Reacting to this performance, Head Coach Jason Kerr praised his bowlers for cleaning up the Yorks for 276. He also lauded the grit showcased by George Bartlett, who has batted incredibly well in the Test match.

He said, “I thought we were excellent today. Kasey Aldridge in particular was outstanding with the ball. He showed great discipline and asked questions. Marchant de Lange was brilliant as well. To bowl them out for 276 was a great effort on that surface and obviously puts us in a strong position.”

“With the bat, Renshaw and Lammonby played well to set the game up nicely. George Bartlett played really well too, just like he did at Southport. In the first innings, he set a platform and was frustrated not to kick on from there. To see him kick on today is great for him. There is an opportunity to win the game and we have to capitalise on that. We need to give ourselves time to do that”, he further added
