After seven England members tested positive for COVID-19 post white-ball series against Sri Lanka, the whole squad has been put into isolation as they were deemed to be in close contact with the infected players. As ECB confirmed that the upcoming white-ball series against Pakistan (3 ODIs and 3 T20Is) will continue as planned, they will be announcing an entirely new team for the same. While Ben Stokes will be the captain of the side and probably be the only regular player, the fans can expect to see some new faces in England squad.

Broad and Anderson engage in a hilarious conversation

Reacting to the news of England announcing a new squad, Stuart Broad made a hilarious comment on Twitter as he asked James Anderson if he still got his ODI cap. Anderson took the banter to a whole new level as he replied with a GIF of a person sitting in front of phone waiting for it to ring.

Will England's legendary duo return for series against Pakistan?

Notably, the duo has been out of ODIs for quite a long time as they have been focusing on prolonging their Test careers. Stuart Broad has 178 wickets in 121 ODIs and played his last match on February 14, 2016 against South Africa. Meanwhile, James Anderson has 269 wickets in 194 ODIs as he played his last match on March 13, 2015 against Afghanistan.

With all the frontline pacers for England unavailable for the series against Pakistan, the fans would be hoping to see the legendary duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad for one last time in limited-overs cricket. Although it is highly unlikely with the team looking set to give an opportunity to youngsters, one just cannot rule out the possibility of watching the sensational duo in England Blues once again.
