According to reports, the Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) is set to announce the Indian team for T20 World Cup either on 15 or 16 September. The selectors and the team management analysed the fitness of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on Saturday and cleared him along with Harshal Patel ahead of the World Cup.

As per excerpts from InsideSport, both Bumrah and Harshal have achieved their full fitness as they gave a test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on Saturday. The medical staff of BCCI was pleased with their progress. Both pacers will now be in contention for selection in T20 World Cup squad as well as the series against Australia.

The selectors, however, will see the progress of Bumrah and Harshal in the upcoming home tri-series with Australia and South Africa. Both will be made to play the matches against the visiting sides.

But one of the biggest injury concerns that still stands for the Indian team is Ravindra Jadeja, who injured his right knee and hence was sidelined from the Asia Cup 2022 after playing the first two games against Pakistan and Hong Kong. Addressing this injury, the BCCI was not pleased with the incident as per a quote reported by the ANI.

A source from the BCCI talked about how the all-rounder should have been more careful and responsible as there is a big tournament like the World Cup just around the corner. "We are not happy with Jadeja's injury. He should have kept the World Cup in mind while doing adventurous activities. But he was not responsible and did not think that the World Cup is on the way. We are not happy with this action of Jadeja," the source quoted.

Jadeja has although undergone a successful knee surgery and will start his rehabilitation soon. The all-rounder posted on Instagram addressing the news. "The surgery was successful. There are many people to thank for their support and involvement - BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back to soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes," said Jadeja in his post.
