
The founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos has shown his interest in collaborating with Roc Nation founder Jay-Z to buy a National Football League (NFL) franchise Washington Commanders, as per multiple reports on Thursday.
The current owner of the Commanders, Dan Snyder is under investigation by the House Oversight Committee and NFL for the allegations of sexual harassment and financial misconduct. The allegations have forced the 57-year-old Snyder to sell the team as he hired Bank of America on Wednesday to explore the best deal for the National Football Conference East division club.
As per CNN, Washington Commanders owners on Wednesday said they were exploring a sale of the team and hired Bank of America Securities "to consider potential transactions." On Thursday, many news outlets reported that Billionaire businessman Jeff Bezos is looking to buy the NFL team in a possible joint venture with the popular rapper and music producer Jay-Z.
Earlier, the Amazon founder showed his interest in buying the NBA franchise, Phoenix Suns following its owner Robert Sarver's one-year suspension from the league. Sarver was accused of using racist language and sexual harassment towards the female players of Phoenix Mercury.
On the other hand, Jay-Z also have close ties in sports as he was a former Brooklyn Nets co-owner, and many NFL athletes are represented by his company, Roc Nation Sports.
