India's Jehan Daruvala will take part in the second test with former champions McLaren at the Portimao circuit next week after making a successful Formula 1 test debut. The two-day test is scheduled to take place on July 18 and 19 in Portugal.

For the second two-day F1 test, the 23-year-old racer will once again drive the 2021 race-winning MCL35M. During his first F1 drive with McLaren, Jehan completed over 130 laps of Silverstone last month. He impressed the British team with his ability to comprehend information from the engineers and quickly adapt to the machinery.

Next week in Portimao, Jehan Daruvala will look to become only the third Indian after Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok to race at the pinnacle of the sport. The Mumbai-based racer has called his F1 test debut experience surreal and has expressed his desire to drive the car again. "My first taste of Formula One machinery was surreal and I can't wait to get back in the car again in Portimao," Jehan said.

"I came away from the Silverstone test with a lot of confidence as both from a driving and physical perspective I did well and covered more than two race distances absolutely trouble-free. My dream has always been to race in Formula One and this test will build on what we achieved at Silverstone," he added

McLaren is running Testing Previous Car (TPC) programme to evaluate young, and upcoming drivers with the Portimao test being a part of the team's programme like the Silverstone outing.

The Indian motor-sport team, Mumbai Falcons are supporting Jehan Daruvala's Formula 2 title bid and said, "The second McLaren test marks yet another milestone in Jehan's journey to Formula One. He impressed on his Formula One debut at Silverstone and we are confident that with this second test, Jehan will continue to prove that he belongs on the grand prix grid."
