Jemimah Rodrigues is undoubtedly one of the most talented young cricketers in India right now. However, things have unfortunately not gone accordingly to the plan for the 21-year-old in last few months.

After a fantastic start to her international career, the right-handed batter suffered a slight dip in form. Her career started to get de-railed and recently, the selectors put the final nail in the coffin for youngster as she was snubbed from India's 2022 ODI World Cup squad.

The dream was over for her and it would have not been an easy thing to digest and accept for the young and talented batter. "If you don't perform, you don't get your chances," India's head coach Ramesh Powar had said, while reflecting on the exclusions of players like Jemimah Rodrigues, Shikha Pandey, Punam Raut etc.

And now, few days after the announcement, the cricketer is set to switch to Hockey in a remarkable turn of events. Not many people know that Jemimah, who has played 21 ODIs and 50 T20Is for India, used to play hockey in the MSSA (Mumbai Schools Sports Association) inter-school league for her school - St Joseph's (Bandra).

Even Hockey India had shared a video of Jemimah, where the youngster could be seen displaying her incredible dribbling skills. Just like the cricket bat, the talented athlete can be seen dazzling with the hockey stick as well.

Fans are all set to see her Hockey skills in a tournament now, as Jemimah (India's own version of Ashleigh Barty) is set to take part in a prestigious local hockey competition - 41st Victor D'Mello Memorial Trophy Rink Hockey Tournament - which will be played from February 11 to 16.

The 21-year-old will turn up for UK United girl's hockey team in what is going to be 5-a-side rink hockey tournament, set to take place at Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana (Santa Cruz, Mumbai). It is indeed going to be an exciting watch for the fans to see a talented cricketer now showing her skills in another sport.
