With the inaugural edition of Women’s Premier League 2023 already setting benchmarks, another former Indian cricketer is set to join the league but in a different capacity. Former Indian cricketer and legend of the game Jhulan Goswami is set to join the Mumbai franchise for the inaugural edition of the WPL.

However, there were reports of the star cricketer joining the league, but all have come to end after the 40-year-old veteran of the sport’s association with the Mumbai franchise was confirmed by the former India captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

“Jhulan has gone to Mumbai,” Sourav Ganguly who joined Delhi Capitals as Director of Cricket told media at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

 

The former cricketer announced retirement from international cricket in September 2022. She played her final match at the iconic Lords.

 

Talking about the Women’s Premier League, the Borad of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to announce the final dates of the auction after the five owners of the franchises were confirmed last month (January 25).
