WWE superstar John Cena had made a comeback to the wrestling world when he surprisingly came out during the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on July 19. The fans had gone mad while Roman Reigns was also left shell-shocked upon seeing Cena back. However, the comeback was not as strong he or the fans would have wanted. Cena was handed a defeat by Reigns in the Summerslam match and with this defeat came Cena’s retirement. He thanked everyone from fans to WWE Staff and Superstars in his Tweet. Recently, Cena has been enjoying a blossoming career in Hollywood as he was seen in ‘Fast & Furious 9’.

Now, with him gone, WWE won’t be the same for his fans. However, Cena has suggested a name that fans would enjoy watching. Cena, in an appearance at That Scene with Dan Patrick, said that he wants to see UFC star Conor McGregor in the squared circle. The Cenation leader reckoned that McGregor possesses all the qualities to become a WWE Superstar. He also praised Conor’s mic work stating that it was similar to that of a pro wrestling promo and hopes that he will follow in the footsteps of Ronda Rousey and make his way into the WWE eventually.

“He’d be fantastic. He is what we do. What he does is a little less predictable. Our surprises are getting people to show up at random, and trying to weave the choose-your-own-adventure to a different alley. His surprises are getting a few teeth knocked out or getting an operation. Not to say that doesn’t happen with us, mistakes happen with us. But in his profession, it's not a mistake. It’s a certainty. At my core, I’m a fan and he’s interesting. He has a gravity about him. I want to see him perform,” said Cena.

McGregor is the highest-paid athlete for 2021

The Irish mixed martial artist is probably the biggest name in the MMA world. He is the ultimate champion. In the recent list of Top 10 highest-paid athletes by Forbes, Conor finds him right at the top. He is the highest-paid athlete with a total earning of $180m ($22m on the field and $158 off the field). McGregor had said to Ronaldo in 2016 that he would overtake him as the sports’ highest-paid star and he has done it. He is two positions ahead of him this year.
